REFLECTIONS ALONG THE WAY

From the desk of Steve Macchia
Dear Rick,

Our world turned upside down overnight with the COVID-19 pandemic. I’m sure you’re still reeling from this new reality, and jolted by the daily news updates, as there’s nothing more important for us to consider. When will this end? What will this mean? How will we cope? The ripple effects will undoubtedly be felt for months, if not years to come.

At Leadership Transformations we are addressing this new reality as a team. As a result, we’ve set up a COVID-19 Updates page where we will be updating you on the following: a) implications for our ministry programs and participants; and b) resources to help you care for your soul and the souls of others.

Please let us know how we can be of service to you and yours during this very tenuous season. We pray God’s loving protection over all who are directly affected by COVID-19, as patients, family members, and emergency responders. All of us need to join together with hopeful tenacity, knowing with certainty that God will not abandon us, but instead will provide beyond all we ask or imagine. As you and yours continue to lean into the Lenten season and await the hope of Resurrection Sunday, be assured of our ongoing love and prayers.

Your brother in Christ,

Steve Macchia
Founder & President

WE ARE ON A MISSION TO
STRENGTHEN THE CHURCH
Today, the Church needs more friends than critics, more advocates than adversaries. Leadership Transformations believes in the sacred work of the Church and all of our programs and resources are ultimately designed to strengthen the Church. This year marks the 20th Anniversary of Becoming a Healthy Church which has been the backbone of LTI's church health efforts. We want to see the Bride of Christ flourish amidst current cultural challenges. We believe strongly that listening leaders are discerning leaders. That is why we developed the Church Health Assessment Tool (CHAT) to help church leaders listen well. CHAT's principle-based framework is built upon the Ten Traits of a Healthy Church from Becoming a Healthy Church.
MORE INFO
Our Church Health Assessment Tool (CHAT) has helped nearly 600 churches conduct a church-wide listening exercise. We praise God for the ability to leverage the technology available to us today to help church leaders listen well as they discern the road ahead. We firmly believe that in order for leaders to be effective, they need to be good listeners to God, to one another as discerning leadership teams, and to all whom they serve.

If you haven’t seen CHAT for yourself or your local church, it might be just the right time to do so — and we guarantee it will be well worth your time! Is your church ready for a church-wide listening exercise?  Download our Free Guide to Church Assessment today.

SELAH-WEST | SELAH-EAST | SELAH-EUROPE
SPIRITUAL DIRECTION TRAINING
The Selah Certificate Program in Spiritual Direction is intentionally Trinitarian in theology, contemplative in style, and biblical in grounding. In this threefold context, we grow from the wisdom and experience of the Church, through readings in the classics of spiritual formation, and through the learned practice of spiritual direction together.

Selah's curriculum is designed to nurture each participant's foundational understanding of the theology of spiritual formation, through faculty teaching during retreat residencies, as well as reading and reflection assignments in between residencies. The curriculum is also structured to develop each spiritual director’s central practice, through small group experiences in retreat residencies, as well as individual experiences offering spiritual direction and reflecting on it with a Selah faculty supervisor in between residencies, either in person or by phone.
The 2021-2023 application season for Selah-East, Selah-West, and Selah-Europe will open in October of 2020. Would you like to be notified when the Selah application season begins?
ADD ME TO THE LIST!
SELAH ALUMNI REUNION!
Twenty-five Selah Fellows (alumni) from Selah-East and Selah-West cohorts gathered for a Selah Refreshing Retreat at the Franciscan Renewal Center in Scottsdale, AZ from February 27-29.
PRACTICE GENEROSITY DURING THE CORONAVIRUS CRISIS
Please support and pray for the nonprofits that you love during this pandemic and the accompanying economic turbulence. Many nonprofit organizations run on a thin margin. Your church, for example, is highly dependent on the weekly offering - and when services are cancelled, there's an abrupt decrease in cash flow. Consider sending an extra financial gift to your church this month. If you are in a position to make a financial contribution to LTI as well we would be grateful!
