REFLECTIONS ALONG THE WAY

From the desk of Steve Macchia
Dear Steve,

As 2019 comes to a close, our hearts are filled to overflowing with gratitude to God for another amazing ministry year. We celebrated our 16th anniversary with very little fanfare, but with an abundance of God’s grace and faithfulness. LTI continues to thrive under the capable service of our team, and the wind of God’s Spirit sustains, empowers, and multiplies in ways that are full of delightful surprises. Emmanuel is with us, and our life with Jesus continues to bring us joy. As you read this LTI enews update, please join me in giving thanks for the programs, people, and resources we provide to the Church today.

Your brother on the journey,

Founder & President

CELEBRATE DAVID!
Join us in celebrating David Wu as the full-time LTI Regional Ministry Director - TX starting Jan 2020!

"For years it has been a dream of mine to serve with LTI full time, serving more leaders and teams with ministries of soul care and spiritual formation. I am particularly looking forward to developing a regional ministry team and to serving diverse as well as underserved communities and their leaders." - David Wu, Regional Ministry Director - TX

"David is an incredibly gifted teacher, leader, and spiritual shepherd. For years he has been serving on the LTI team in a part-time capacity facilitating retreats, teaching workshops, providing Enneagram consultations, offering spiritual direction, and supervising spiritual directors in training. We are absolutely thrilled to see David stepping into a full-time role as of January 1. It’s a financial step of faith but one that we all embrace with trust in the Lord’s provision and gratitude for the opportunity to increase the deployment of David’s tremendous gifts through LTI." - Rick Anderson, Executive Vice President
David and his family wish everyone in the LTI family a very happy New Year!

SPIRITUAL LEADERSHIP COMMUNITY

This fall saw the beginning of our 13th community of spiritual leaders in Emmaus. Once again, we have experienced the presence of the Lord among us in varied ways on retreat. Authentic engagement by each participant have allowed for rich relationships to form and for deepening of trust in the Lord to be fostered amidst the various components of the retreats. The topics this year are spiritual attentiveness, spiritual formation, spiritual discernment and spiritual community, all drawing attention to the vital work and presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives and community.

DID YOU KNOW?

Selah-Europe launched in September 2019, bringing the riches of LTI’s spiritual direction training to those serving overseas (in missions) and those living overseas (native to their own countries). This brings the number of  spiritual directors in training at any given time to nearly 70, gifts us with cultural perspectives from not only North America but South Africa, Mongolia, Thailand, Japan, the Carribean and Europe.

SELAH FELLOWS LAUNCHED!
Selah-Fellows, LTI’s ministry to the nearly 160 graduates of Selah, launched this past summer. Under the wise and visionary leadership of Ted Wueste (Selah’s Associate for Supervision & Nurture) we are encouraging our graduates in ongoing ministry practices of integrity and growth through a variety of means including regular “Selah Refreshing” retreats and online community expressions and publications.

Our Church Health Assessment Tool (CHAT) has helped more than 550 churches conduct a church-wide listening exercise. We praise God for the ability to leverage the technology available to us today to help church leaders listen well as they discern the road ahead. We firmly believe that in order for leaders to be effective, they need to be good listeners to God, to one another as discerning leadership teams and to all whom they serve.

If you haven’t seen CHAT for yourself or your local church, it might be just the right time to do so — and we guarantee it will be well worth your time! Is your church ready for a church-wide listening exercise?  Download our
