Reflections Along the Way

From the Desk of Steve Macchia

Dear Rick,
A new ministry year is upon us…it's amazing what happens when the calendar turns over to September after a summer filled with physical rest, relational refreshment, and spiritual renewal. We're back in the saddle and fully engaged in our mission, serving the spiritual formation, discernment and renewal of leaders and teams. We've seen our primary programs expand while adding a few new ministry initiatives and creating brand new resources for our online store. Join us at our "Colloquium" and "Soul Sabbath" series, consider enrolling in our "Selah" Certificate Program in Spiritual Direction, or become a part of "Emmaus" our Spiritual Leadership Community. There's a meaningful place for you, resources for your soul, and a gifted team available to serve you at us today!

LTI Ministry Highlights

Are you looking for spiritual direction training in the Western US?
Phoenix, AZ - We will be hosting a Selah Exploration Day on November 22, 2014 in the Phoenix area (Scottsdale).  During this day you will have the opportunity to:
  • Meet Selah Director Susan Currie and hear her heart for training spiritual directors
  • Hear from local Selah graduates Ted Wueste and Donna Otto
  • Get information on a possible "Selah West" cohort being launched in 2015
  • Learn about our program’s values and distinctives (training that is Trinitarian in theology, Biblical in grounding, contemplative in style, as well as relational in context)
  • Experience what it is to be on Selah retreat, interspersing presentation times with peer interaction and prayerful reflection, heightening your attentiveness to the Lord’s presence in our midst
  • Be refreshed in body and soul, enjoying the grounds of the retreat center while prayerfully discerning your own sense of call to the ministry of spiritual direction

More About Selah Exploration Day

The 8th cohort of Emmaus begins next week with a record-sized group.  The new "Passage Year" of curriculum is being embarked upon this fall.  In this first retreat, the participants will gather in community and experiential learning around the subject of "Spiritual Relinquishment."
Emmaus is a 1-year retreat-based leadership community ... and the only thing missing is YOU.  The 2014 cohort is full but start planning now for next year (fall 2015).  Consider joining Emmaus if you are looking for:
  • A more contemplative lifestyle in the midst of the growing demands of leadership
  • A caring, listening, and discerning community of sacred companions
  • Ongoing development to help you care for the souls of others in your ministry context
Come and journey with others who hunger for rest, renewal, encouragement, and deeper spiritual companionship. An optional Certificate in Spiritual Leadership is offered to those interested in enhancing their Emmaus experience. Fill out the Online Application today.
