Fostering a Leadership Lifestyle of Formation, Discernment, and Renewal
LTi’s Spiritual Leadership Communities are unique groups of leaders who desire ever deepening attentiveness to the presence and movement of God within their lives and among one another. Each community gathers together for four topical retreats over a period of nine months, which include times of prayerful community, shared spiritual journeys, and exposure to practical resources and training. Each retreat is designed to provide a spiritually enriching environment for ongoing encouragement and growth, whereby spiritual formation and discernment are significantly enlarged in the hearts of leaders. It is our hope that by coming alongside and engaging with one another in unhurried, reflective/contemplative retreat settings we will develop a lifestyle of spiritual formation that will impact our personal walk of intimacy with Christ and ultimately infiltrate our daily ministry context.
- We are inviting you to prayerfully consider being part of the Spiritual Leadership Community from September 2010– May 2011.
- LTi’s three foundational components of personal spiritual formation - Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection - will be central to each SLC retreat.
- Our personal “Spiritual Autobiography” and “Rule of Life” will be a continued focus of small group sharing in which we grow spiritually and become more accountable to one another.
- Our goal is to have 24 pastors and leaders participate in the 2010-2011 offering. Some in-depth interaction time will include four groups of six participants, each led by two facilitators. The larger group will gather together for worship, meals, shared experiences, “logging-in” (state of soul) and the topical teaching component.
- Our four retreats will be held on Tuesday 9:00 AM – Thursday 1:30 PM. All retreats will be held at the Wonderland Conference Center in Sharon, MA.
- We will offer spacious blocks of alone time for prayer, biblical and personal reflection--a significant block on Wednesday and 12 hours each overnight..
- Contemplative Bible reading, worship, and other group participatory components will provide opportunities for shared leadership from attendees (as desired).
- Our goal is for spiritual formation to happen in depth involving more of the “heart” affective/responsive level with each topic assigned. We therefore will increase the expectations in preparation through possible reflection presentations/papers or other means of topical implementation and meaningful dialogue among participants.
- We will be a covenant group whereby a basic covenant will be determined as we begin our times together as a community of spiritual leaders.
